Don’t Sleep on These Top 5 Affordable Lofts in Toronto!

If you’ve been following my blog and YouTube channel for a while, you probably know that I. Love. Lofts! Like, really love them. For many people in Toronto, they are the ultimate stylish and functional space. The perfect combo of pleasing aesthetics and easy urban living.

One thing you need to know about lofts is that they are usually sold at a premium. They’re typically a bit pricy compared to other condo types in Toronto. However, there are a few really great Toronto lofts that I would consider to be on the “affordable” side of the scale.

In this post, I’m sharing my top 5 affordable Toronto loft buildings. These lofts are big on the lifestyle but at least 10-20% below the average price per square foot compared to other lofts in Toronto.

1. Century Lofts

365 Dundas Street East

The location of Century Lofts absolutely plays into the affordability here. It’s what you would call an up-and-coming neighbourhood. However, it’s still close to the centre of the city. This is a low-rise loft building (only two storeys!) and a great example of an amazing hard loft conversion. If you close your eyes and picture a trendy NYC loft, this is what you’re getting.

A smaller building with fewer units, Century Lofts are unique. The 11-foot post-and-beam ceilings and factory windows only add to the warmth, style, and appeal of these lofts. The price tag doesn’t hurt either!

2. Network Lofts

2 Fieldway Road

South Etobicoke looks mighty fine from this trendy and affordable mid-rise loft building. With about 18 storeys, this building is larger than some of the other lofts on this list, but the location and amenities still scream exclusivity.

Located within minutes of the Bloor and Islington subway station, this building was a former Bell office building, and in my opinion, is one of the better office conversions in the city. The units feature 10-foot polished concrete ceilings, polished concrete floors, exposed ductwork, and, even though it’s an office conversion, there are numerous amenities.

You can find a gym, sauna, party room, and security at Network Lofts, all rare finds in a loft building, and even rarer in an affordable loft building!

3. Mystic Point Lofts

200, 250, 300 Manitoba Street

Hands-down the most requested loft on our website. When a new unit comes up for sale at Mystic Point Lofts, we get a ton of inquiries. This loft is probably most known for being 2-storeys with that fantastic and super sought-after open-concept sleeping loft that looks down on on the main living area.

When we say these lofts are bright and airy, we mean it too. There are two levels of windows! Most units also include gas fireplaces, and they are amazing value for what you get.

4. West Village Lofts

550 Hopewell Avenue

Located on the outskirts of Forest Hill, one of Toronto’s most exclusive high-end neighbourhoods, West Village Lofts are a definite win for loft lovers looking for quality and affordability. Another low-rise building, this is a soft loft with only 3 storeys.

Soaring 12.5 foot ceilings give an incredible open-concept feel and you’ll see amazing features in these lofts like polished concrete floors, exposed ductworks, and some units even have clawfoot tubs. A total dream.

5. Foundry Lofts

1100 Lansdowne Avenue

Maybe I’m a little biased here, but Foundry Lofts is by far one of my favourite loft buildings in all of Toronto. It’s located in Wallace Emmerson, my ‘hood! And I love it. There are so many amazing things about the neighbourhood, and Foundry Lofts is close to all of it!

The building itself was a former steel and iron factory–it actually manufactured locomotives. And there is a great common area at the centre of the building. The 4-storey atrium is a popular spot in the building for events, and a great place to hang out in general. However, you obviously won’t be living in the atrium. The units themselves are just as special.

This hard loft features exposed brick, gorgeous round windows, original windows in units, 2-level units, and more. It’s quite close to downtown and offers amazing value for a hard loft in a great location!
